This is where most athletes, team sport players, and regular gym goers leave performance on the table, not in the session itself, but in the hours surrounding it. The training is accounted for. The sleep is roughly managed. But the nutrition window between sessions gets treated as an afterthought, a rough approximation of "eating enough," when it's actually the most controllable lever you have for showing up fresh the next day.

Protein consumed after training also supports immune function, reduces markers of muscle damage, and, when combined with carbohydrate, contributes to the hormonal environment that shifts the body from breakdown toward adaptation.
For consecutive training days, spreading protein intake across meals rather than concentrating it in one sitting is worth the effort. The body can only use so much at once for synthetic processes.
